Selling Guide


If you are considering selling at auction, Muthaiga Auctioneers will do their very best to accommodate you and to maximise realisation on your items. Whatever the industry, business or equipment we have a team of experienced commercial experts who have actually dealt with everything from heavy machinery through to household furniture.

The professional services we provide include identification, scheduling, valuing for all purposes, uplifting, storage, discreet business marketing either as a whole business or part,traditional sales by private treaty, tender or auction (on site or on our premises)

  • Valuation Services
  • We offer a valuation services for any item brought into the Saleroom, please ring for an appointment so we can insure the correct Valuer is on site . If you have a number of items or a house full of contents, please contact us for an appointment and ask for one of our Valuers to visit your home. Please note all vendor entries are stricly by appointment only.

  • Reserve Price
  • We are happy to agree a fixed reserve price below which we will not sell. However, we usually recommend that your goods be sold at auctioneer's discretion, which gives us leeway on the lower estimate.

  • Settlement
  • You can request a verbal sales record after the auction, but this is not a guaranteed figure. Funds are normally dispatched days after the sale. Payout of goods sold through auction will be at the hammer price less our commission.

  • Commission
  • Commission charges will be agreed with the auctioneers prior to entries being accepted.

  • Other Charges
  • Other charges can include advertising, transport costs etc. but will be agreed prior to entries being accepted.
